Bostic Family : Waiting on Malcom

I graduated from high school with Derek and Jessie ... and yes they were together even back then.  Jessie and I were managers for the wrestling team together, as well as Advanced Placement Calculus partners.  Aside from this we both married our high school sweet heart, worked in the school system and are now in the photography business.  When Jessie got in touch with me about possibly doing some maternity pictures, I was thrilled that we were able to work it out with our schedule for going into North Carolina.  The weekend of September 30th we met up at a local park and were able to get some shots at a beautiful lake location that I didn't even know existed!

They are expecting their third child in a little over 2 weeks.  Malcom will be the little brother to big sister Laraya and big brother Cassius!  Laraya and Cassius are 21 months apart, and so incredibly sweet with one another.  It was obvious that they are used to their mommy taking pictures, because they did a fantastic job ... complete naturals in front of the camera!

Jessie battled "morning sickness" (but more like all day sickness) for the first 28 weeks of this pregnancy, and is now dealing with blood glucose issues that force her to give herself two shots a day.  Aside from this she was so positive and looks beautiful.  She didn't hesitate however to let me know that she was more than ready for little Malcom to arrive, and that if he decided to come early she wouldn't complain :)

Best of luck you guys!  Having 3 kids is great :)

Stuart Stewart: 1 year old

This little guy has been on my blog a few times now.  I took maternity pictures for his mom and dad at the end of last summer, and then took some family pictures of him with his cousins for Christmas last year (he was just 12 weeks old).  September 13th I had the pleasure of celebrating his first birthday with his family!  Sunnie (Stuart's mom) did a fantastic job on his party.  The theme was Mickey Mouse (he has been mesmerized by the show since he was about 3 months old) and she went all out.  I absolutely LOVED all of the decorations, and the food was fabulous ... from "Donald & Daisy's Delicious Desserts" to "Hot-Diggity Bar-B Dogs" & "Pluto's Pizza"... and the best potato salad I have ever had ... hands down!

Stuart had VERY few sweets prior to his birthday, and Sunnie wanted his first cake to be extra special!  She had her mom make the cake that she has made for Sunnie every birthday that she can remember.  Chocolate cake on the bottom, vanilla cake on top, with a layer of banana pudding between ... all covered with Cool Whip!  Sounds kinda crazy, but it was delicious ... and I am pretty sure Stuart agrees. :)

LOTS of family showed up for the big day, and everyone had a wonderful time!

Light Family : Beach

There is not enough time for me to tell you how much I adore this family.  We met Adam and Tiffany through church almost 3 years ago.  Over time we have grown closer and closer, and now if I go 2 days without talking to Tiffany I feel like my whole world is out of balance.  She is truly the type of friend that I can call if I need anything ... and have on several occasions, including the birth of our 3rd child!  With all of our family living 3-4 hours away, I will forever be indebted to her and Adam for coming to spend the night at our house with Shepherd and Josephine the night that I went into labor with Sullivan.  Keep in mind that she was 8 1/2 months pregnant herself at the time!  She had Weston 12 days later :)

Addison is 4 and is Shepherd's BEST friend.  They are seriously like a little old married couple the way they act towards one another, but are inseparable.  They are in the same pre-school class this year, and played on the same Tball team over the summer.  It was at one of the Tball games when we were discussing being on vacation right before school started that we realized we were going to be at Myrtle Beach the exact same week.  Tiffany was so sweet, and hesitated asking me to do pictures for them since I was going to be on vacation, but eventually told me that she had ALWAYS wanted family pictures on the beach.  Lucky for her, I had been wanting to do a beach session ;).  I was thrilled that it worked out for me to do these, and adore the shots I got of Addison and Weston together.

Tiffany's cousin Courtney came on vacation with them to help out with the kids and ended up being a life saver during the photo session.  You will see her in a couple of pictures as well. :)

Aubrie Lynn : 6 weeks

Every year we go on vacation to White Lake, North Carolina with my parents and extended family on my mom's side.  This year was even more special, because we added 3 new babies since last year.  My niece Jonah is the oldest addition, followed closely by my son Sullivan.  The youngest, Aubrie is my 2nd cousin Ronnie and his wife Traci's daughter.  She was just 6 weeks old when we were at the lake back in August. (Yes, I am way behind :/) ... Vacation was my first time seeing her in person, and she is ADORABLE!!  I just HAD to take some pictures :).
Ronnie is just a little older than me, and was by far my closest cousin growing up.  I know that he has been ready for kids for quite some time, and it is awesome to see him with his own daughter.  Traci, who teaches kindergarten is no stranger to kids.  She is quiet, but so sweet and seems to have embraced motherhood.  One of my favorite pictures from the day is one that was taken when we were actually "finished".  Traci had just changed Aubrie's diaper and was snuggling her in the main room of the cabin.  Even with the busy kitchen background, that special bond between mother and child is so apparent.

I can't wait to see all three of them again in a few weeks for Thanksgiving.  Having a 7 month old myself, I know how quickly they change and expect that Aubrie will be like a completely different child than from when these were taken!

Burton Family

I have known Rebekah and Justin for a couple of years now.  We met at church, and our son Shepherd became friends with their son Kendall.  Last summer Rebekah and I, along with another woman in our Sunday school class, found out that we were expecting.  We then all discovered we were having boys!  My son Sullivan was the 1st of the three boys and was born February 19th.  Rylan the third boy, was born just over a month later, on March 21st.  It was so nice being able to go through our pregnancies together, and we are all very excited to watch the boys grow up together!  Kendall just turned 5 and will be starting Kindergarten in August.  The pictures of him playing Tball were actually taken May 24th, the evening of his 5th birthday, when his team played my son's team.  The rest of the pictures were taken June 5th. Rylan was one day shy of 11 weeks old, and so relaxed and laid back.  Kendall, who seems to be embracing the big brother role, was super silly and expressive.  He is definitely the master of funny faces. They are such a sweet family and I am thrilled that I was able to capture some images of them all together.

Brian - 1 Year Old

I met Brian and Jackie May 30th, 2011 when I took their maternity pictures.  It is a good thing it didn't rain causing us to reschedule, because Jackie gave birth to Brian III the very next day!!  It is hard to believe that it has already been a year.  Several weeks ago when Jackie contacted me about taking Brian's 1 year pictures I was so excited, and I couldn't WAIT to finally meet the little guy in person.  He has piercing blue eyes and adorable blonde curls.  He didn't want to share his usual contagious smile that I have come so accustomed to seeing via Facebook and Instagram, but luckily we were able to get a few grins out of him.  He particularly enjoyed his birthday cupcake!  We all got a great laugh watching him enjoy so much sweetness for the first time.   Gainer tagged along for the shoot (as well as Brian Sr. to keep an eye on him).  He is truly the sweetest most well-behaved dog I have ever seen.

Brian and Jackie, I could tell by watching you with Brian how much you are both loving parenthood.  Having three children of my own, I can assure that it only gets better!

The "Darter" Sisters & Families

Josh and Rebecca Fuller are our friends from church.  Their son Lofton (whose name I LOVE) is so cute!  He has amazing blue eyes, and adores is momma.  Rebecca wanted to have a photo session with her family & her sister Amanda's family.  Amanda and Andy have two BEAUTIFUL girls, Emma and Claire.  Rebecca told me when she scheduled the session that they would be great with the camera, and she knows her nieces well.  Emma brought her friend Molly along to get a few shots with too!  The weather couldn't have been more beautiful, and neither could these two families. :)

Avery - 2 years

I have had the pleasure of photographing Avery several times over the last two years.  She is developing such a funny personality and has a smile that is contagious.  We planned her 2 year pictures for a weekend when Tiffany's parents would be in town, so we were able to get some shots of Avery with her grandparents.  Avery was born on Easter Sunday, so naturally her birthday will be near Easter every year.  Tiffany made her an adorable shirt with a bunny in a basket to wear with a skirt that she also made.  Tiffany's mom made the plush Easter basket.

Avery is a girl on the move, and getting her to actually sit still for a picture was next to impossible.  Thanks to the distraction of flowers, the moon (which was already visible in the late afternoon sky), plastic eggs and bubbles we were able to get some great shots.

SETH : Class of 2012

Seth is my cousin, and the middle grandchild on my mom's side of the family.  He is a senior at Northwest Guilford High School where he plays Lacrosse.  Last year he was a member of the team that won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!  Their motto that year was "Chase the Championship", to honor their teammate Chase (#17) who passed away.  You will see the "17 CB" on his helmet in a few of the pictures.  While we were home for Christmas I took some senior pictures for him, but in reality they were more for my Aunt Trish. ;)   We brought along his girlfriend of 2 years Brittany to be in some of them as well.  Seth will be attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro this coming fall.

Tabitha & Alyssa - Friends

My Husband's younger sister is a senior at East Carolina University.  While she was home for Christmas break she asked if I would take pictures of her and her friend Alyssa from school.  When I first met Tabitha she was only 5 years old, and I feel so fortunate to have been able to watch her grow into the beautiful young woman she is today.  As for the pictures, I love the series of black-and-whites at then end.
