Nolan : 1st Birthday | {Kingsport TN Birthday Photography)

Catch-up Post: ... hard to believe his 2nd birthday is already planned and just a few weeks away

Maelin : 2nd Birthday | 11.2.13 {Kingsport TN Birthday Photography}

In our current age of Pinterest, birthday parties are a BIG deal!  For me, this has always been the case.   Growing up my parents gave us the most wonderful birthday parties .. truly some of my fondest childhood memories.  Needless to say, I love a big birthday celebration.  The time, energy and creativity that go into parties these days truly deserves to be documented.  I have done a few birthday party sessions recently, and I can't wait to do more.

Maelin's 2nd birthday party back in November is one of my favorites by far.  Her mom Adrienne did a remarkable job incorporating the Winnie The Pooh theme into every aspect of the party.  The decorations were adorable, and the food labels were soooo creative!  She asked me to just be there to capture the guests and party happenings.  Having taken pictures for Maelin's cousin Stuart's 1st and 2nd birthdays, it was nice to see everyone.  I almost feel like an adopted member of the family.

Stuart : 2nd Birthday | 9.13.13 {Kingsport TN Birthday Photography}

I absolutely adore this sweet family.  Their birthday parties remind me of my own growing up ... at home with  LOTS of family, lots of love and laughter, and lots of yummy food.  The main course this year was spaghetti with homemade meatballs.
Little Stuart is so stinkin' CUTE!  He has developed quite the fascination with motorcycles over the last year, and according to mom Sunnie would watch the movie UP every hour that he is awake.  Thanks for including me in your special day!

Andrew : 5th Birthday | 9.1.13 {Kingsport TN Birthday Photography}

September 1st in Denton NC was HOT!  This was the day we celebrated Andrew's 5th birthday with all things racecar, giant Jenga and an inflatable.  The heat didn't seem to slow down the kids a bit (although a few looked as though they had just run through a sprinkler).  I loved the way Andrew's mom Jennifer carried the race car theme to the food .. chocolate doughnut "spare tires", chocolate/sprinkle covered pretzel "dipsticks", "crew chief" chicken nuggets and "motor oil" to drink.

Stuart Stewart: 1 year old

This little guy has been on my blog a few times now.  I took maternity pictures for his mom and dad at the end of last summer, and then took some family pictures of him with his cousins for Christmas last year (he was just 12 weeks old).  September 13th I had the pleasure of celebrating his first birthday with his family!  Sunnie (Stuart's mom) did a fantastic job on his party.  The theme was Mickey Mouse (he has been mesmerized by the show since he was about 3 months old) and she went all out.  I absolutely LOVED all of the decorations, and the food was fabulous ... from "Donald & Daisy's Delicious Desserts" to "Hot-Diggity Bar-B Dogs" & "Pluto's Pizza"... and the best potato salad I have ever had ... hands down!

Stuart had VERY few sweets prior to his birthday, and Sunnie wanted his first cake to be extra special!  She had her mom make the cake that she has made for Sunnie every birthday that she can remember.  Chocolate cake on the bottom, vanilla cake on top, with a layer of banana pudding between ... all covered with Cool Whip!  Sounds kinda crazy, but it was delicious ... and I am pretty sure Stuart agrees. :)

LOTS of family showed up for the big day, and everyone had a wonderful time!
