Catch-Up post ... Thanks to social media I have been able to keep up with these little guys, and goodness they just keep getting cuter.
Weston : 2 Years Old | {Kingsport TN Children Photography}
Catch-up Post ... almost a year later and he still has the same adorable shaggy hair and an even stronger affection for anything with wheels
Rylee : 6 months old | 1.17.14 {Kingsport TN Baby Photography}
This is the post that inspired me to get caught up on blog posts. I have been so excited to share this little beauty with you guys, but had 6 other unposted sessions as well. I mentioned in the Maitland's family session post that even though Rylee wasn't her usual smiley self for those pictures, to check back soon for her 6 month pictures .. where she shared soooo many adorable grins and giggles.
Tiffany (Rylee's Mom) recently introduced me to a little local children's boutique called Super Twirl that has the most adorable and affordable headbands, bows, jewelry and lace rompers. The little pink rompers Rylee is wearing came from there, and they have dresses as well.
Jonah : 2 Years Old | 1.2.14 {Kingsport TN Children Photography}
In honor of my niece's 2nd birthday you are getting a 2-in-1 post. I cannot believe that the same little TINY baby girl born at 4lbs 7oz back in 2012 is now 2 YEARS OLD! When my own son Sullivan was born 7 weeks later, he was already bigger than she was .. she was tiny ya'll.
I may be a tad biased, but Jonah is soooo smart .. and already hilarious! Her vocabulary and ability to speak in sentences blows my mind. She has the most adorable bouncy curls to go along with her bubbly, bouncy personality. She is such a wonderful blend of my sister Alixe and Brother-in-law David. I love her to pieces and love the bond that her and my 3 kids are forming. My daughter has started spending the night at their house some when we go to NC and tells me all the time that Jonah is her best friend. I just pray she always has such good taste in friends. :)
Then....
Andrew & Nolan : Brothers | 10.27.13 {Kingsport TN Children Photography}
Sweet little Nolan is 6 months old ... and well ... what else can I say but ... "THOSE EYES!!" Big brother Andrew turned 5 not long before these were taken and I took some pictures of him at his party seen here, so the purpose of this session was to document Nolan's new ability to sit unsupported and get some shots of the boys together. I asked Jennifer to bring Andrew's Tonka truck with her and I LOVE the way it worked out.
Graham & Gryder : 1 month old | 10.11.13 {Kingsport TN Newborn Photography}
These two cuties are identical twins! I am not going to lie, pictures with TWO newborns was more challenging than I anticipated ... and that was with them being SUPER cooperative! I was truly shocked at their easy-going demeanors. I just underestimated the amount of feeding, peeing and pooping that happens with two 5 week olds. Graham is the "older" twin and sports a sweet little green "big brother" anklet to help mom and dad identify who is who. Individually they were awesome, but pics with them together were hard to come by (due to the aforementioned eating/peeing/pooping). "We" were finally able to get them both full, and they cuddled up in the little basket and went to sleep. It seriously was the most precious thing I have ever seen! We didn't want to move them. Nancy (the twins' mom) said that it was the best they had slept since they were born! All I could think was , "bless her heart". Reluctantly we removed them from the basket and tried to get the precious naked baby pics that ever mother desires ... 2 naked babies was only going to make them more adorable. But ... you guessed it ... more pee/poop. We ran out of time, but I think we still got some really sweet pictures of both boys.
Kindergarten Mini Sessions | 9.6.13 {Kingsport TN Children Photography}
I still have a hard time believing that I have a kindergartener ... I mean how did the past 5 years go by that fast?? I wanted to document this milestone in my little guy's life ... freeze time for a moment before he entered the big world of elementary school. The two of us went out one afternoon back in the summer to get some shots of just him, and to be honest I wasn't overly pleased with what I captured. The first place we went ... the place I had been DYING to take him ... the place I just KNEW would be awesome ... wasn't. I didn't get the images with the awesome red barn in the background I had envisioned, and frankly, I was frustrated. I reluctantly loaded up the old school desk I have been holding onto for years for this very event and decided to head somewhere different. Without a plan we ended up at the local park. I grabbed the suitcases to get some poses that would illustrate the start of his educational "journey". They were ok, but still not my favorites. Before we left we got to talking (I don't even remember now about what) ... but whatever it was, it was funny. We laughed ... laughed until we cried. The images I got during that 3 minutes were some of my favorites EVER taken of my first born. I look at these images and I can HEAR his infectious giggle.
Weston : 18 months old | 9.6.13 {Kingsport TN Children Photography}
It is hard to believe this is the same little guy who was completely uninterested in taking his 1 year pictures just 6 months ago. We traveled to Steele Creek Park for this session ... my first time ever going ... and it was lovely! Weston's older sister Addison's 18 month pictures were taken at the same place, so their mom Tiffany knew before Weston was even born that she wanted to do the same for him. He is still VERY much a boy on the move, but was much more generous with his precious smiles this time around. Narrowing down shots from his impromptu dance party on the amphitheater stage was nearly impossible!
Rylee : 1 week old | 7.23.13 .. {Kingsport TN Newborn Photography}
WOW that was fast! It seems like yesterday that I met Jim, Tiffany and Avery for Christmas pictures and was surprised with the news that they were expecting. Sweet, not-so-little Rylee was born on 7.17.13 at 1:39 in the afternoon. Her 21 3/4 inches weighed in at 9lbs 3.3oz! She is absolutely beautiful and has the most lovely little lips. Big sister Avery seems to be LOVING her new role! Congratulations guys and welcome to the hectic wonderful world of multiple children.

Nolan : 3 months old | 6.2.13 .. {Kingsport TN Baby Photography}
Jennifer is my husband's slightly older cousin and they were super close growing up. Time and distance have made spending time with her family on a regular basis difficult, but we still make a point to see them for Easter, Thanksgiving and the kids' birthdays when it works with everyone's schedules. We found out when they brought us dinner after having our 1st son that they were expecting their first child too. Their oldest son Andrew was sick the day of these pictures, so this session was all about the newest addition to their family, little brother Nolan. Nolan was born on March, 4th, 2013 and weighed in at 7lbs 12oz. While he was average size at birth, this boy has taken off in his first 3 months. He is already in 6 month clothing and weighs a little over 16lbs. Jennifer made a comment while I was taking pictures about not knowing what to do with a big baby ... Andrew was right at 18lbs on his first birthday! She was concerned about them being opposite seasons in clothes, but maybe Nolan being a little big will actually work out well for big brother's hand-me-downs ;).
We opted to do a mini session since it was just Nolan, and I only shot for about 20-25 minutes. That was all this little guy needed to impress, he was ALL smiles! ... with the exception of a couple at the end when he got the hiccups and I couldn't help but document his mad face ;). You can tell he LOVES his mama because his eyes would just light up and the sweetest grin would overtake his face when she spoke to him. My favorite was when he would raise his little eyebrow ... such a ham!
Make sure to check back at the end of the summer for 6 months pictures of this little cutie and some of his equally handsome big brother! I can't believe that Andrew will be 5 years old in September!

Addison - 5 & Weston - 1 : 4.14.13 .. {Kingsport TN Children Photographer}
This family is so special to me. Addison and Weston are really close in age to my two boys and sharing my most recent pregnancy with Tiffany was awesome. It stinks knowing we could have done the same with our first pregnancies but didn't know each other then. Addison's and Weston's birthdays are just a few days apart, February 27th and March 2nd respectively. Weston had the cutest "Little Man" themed birthday party, and Tiffany wanted to use some of the decorations in his pictures. With really cold temperatures and their vacation to Disney World we pushed the pictures off until April 14th. This meant we were also able to take some in their adorable matching Easter outfits. I mean really, there are few things cuter than a tiny boy in a tie!
It is hard to believe that Addison and my own son Shepherd will be starting Kindergarten in just a few short months. They have enjoyed being in the same preschool class this year and Tiffany and I are anxious to see if they will have the same Kindergarten teacher.
Part of me wishes we had endured the cold temperatures and taken these a little sooner ... before Weston was walking good to be more specific. Let me tell you, this boy is on the MOVE. He loves the outdoors and exploring ... but that makes pictures (especially pictures in specific places with birthday decorations ;) ) a little challenging. Trying to do pictures with both of them together ... it was just comical. I had to include a couple shots of Addison trying to hold Weston when he was having NO part of it. It captures his independent, adventurous, determined little spirit ... and let's be honest ... isn't that the point of yearly pictures anyways?
