I have always LOVED taking pictures, and have an appreciation for nice photos. It wasn't until I had my son Shepherd, left my career as a high school math teacher in North Carolina to move to Tennessee for my husband's job, and became a stay-at-home mom that I really began to practice the art of photography.  I prefer taking pictures outside and making the most of natural light. I also find great reward in editing! The whole concept of LIFEshots stems from creating Lasting Images From Everyday shots ... taking what could easily be an ordinary snapshot and creating a memorable moment.

My daughter Josephine only added to my love of photography. Oh the fun us girls have had doing things that were not an option with Shepherd.  Adding a third child to the mix rocked our worlds.  Sullivan is so laid back and happy, I adore taking pictures of him and his gorgeous big blue eyes, but 3 kids in just over 4 years isn't for the faint of heart.  Sometimes I look back on the early months of life as a family of 5, with no family around, and wonder how I managed to photograph my own kids, let alone someone else's. While it has been challenging to find the time to devote to keeping everything up-to-date, photography is a passion.  It provides me with a creative outlet and an escape from "mommy land".  It is also an opportunity for me to use my gift to bring joy to others.

I can't say anymore about myself without mentioning my husband.  It is difficult to remember my life before him.  Our first date was when we were just 13 & 14 years old!  Over 25 years later he is still my rock, my biggest fan and my very best friend.  When I say I could not do this with out him ... TRULY .. I could NOT do this without his love, support, encouragement and willingness to pick up my slack.


As much as we like to believe we will NEVER forget sweet or funny expressions our children make, their smile after losing their first tooth, precious curls on their heads before the first haircut, or how they look dragging around their favorite blanket ... time moves on ... new expressions come, big teeth replace small ones and they no longer need special comfort items.  My goal is to help you remember the little details of life, to capture the essence of your family ... to give you Lasting Images From Everyday moments.

I KNOW there are images of my childrens' lives that will forever be favorites of mine when they get older that have not even been taken yet.  I want to capture favorite images of your family too ...  that is what keeps me clicking. :)
